Minimalist With A Twist

source
"A minimalist with a twist, she isn't boring with her simple style. Dressing simple makes Phuong feel more comfortable but she always has a statement item to make her outfit unique.
That's the beauty about personal style, injecting that one thing that sets you apart from the rest of the world through your outfit.
Not a heels girl, she says "shoes are something I can make a statement with but yet still be practical", Phuong is all about comfort.
Her wallet must also be comfotable, the 34 year old believes in stretching her money. She's conscious about what she spends on and that's an intelligent way to shop.
According to her, "The key is to buy what you need, invest in items that will stand the test of time""

I wrote that for class the other day and got great feedback from my tutor, even got my classmates clapping. I didn't think it was all that to be honest (or maybe that's just me being pessimist or too strong a critic), but they liked it so it must be ok at least.
The image I used isn't the person I wrote about but she wore something similar actually, Phuong wasn't feeling very camera ready.

Sorry I haven't been updating much, I've just been busy. If I had a pound for every time I've said that here and in person when I get the chance to meet some of you guys, I'd probably have a Celine bag. When I get some more free time on my hands I'll definitely update more.

I bought something recently that I'm crazy about. I'm not one for hauls (even though I love to watch them on youtube, I think they're better recorded as a video than a written blog post except its a lookbook. That being said, I don't think I have the charisma/personality for youtube, but I just had to share this because not only am I in love with them but it's some sort of update for zhe blog. So let's start from the beginning.

If you follow me on instagram you'll know I've posted this picture of Solange and you'll know I absolutely love her style.
And till this day I'm in love with these shoes she wore (and the whole outfit), the shoes are from Acne Studios.

My favourite part of the shoe is the face.

I looked for it when I got to the UK (luckily during the sales season, I had saved money for this!) and when I found it I didn't like the price so I just forgot about it.
After some time I started craving new shoes so I looked at what I had and tried to figure out what I needed. I didn't have white pumps which I consider a possible staple and I also though having print shoes will be great as well, you already know how much I love print. So I kept looking and found these on sale. It was love at first sight.

Can't wait to wear it with this new top I got from Asos
You might not like to match but I do! Stripes on stripes all day! Lol

Speaking of Solange, I just recently realized I have something else in common with the style star and it happens to be another one of my favourite things! My DVF Mathew jacket, Solange wore in her music video, Losing You.

I've worn mine a few times here and here on the blog but recently I wore it to school and got photographed and featured on the Conde Nast College blog! :)
Find that here
I don't think I was looking my best that day but hey, not everyday is photoshoot day. I don't always look great.
Recently I wore the jacket with my new shoes to a fashion show and I promise to reshoot the outfit later when I've got more free time because this was taken with my phone and it's not so great.

Hope you enjoyed my little update, Love you guys x
