Within The Lines

The print on this fabric reminds me of something a child would draw in a scrap book but that’s what made me buy it in the first place. The colours aren’t within the lines, edges aren’t straight and I love the vibrant colours too.
The year 2014 is coming to an end and two trends I really loved this year are the crop top and the high-low hem both shown in this Ankara look.
I think both trends will continue in 2015 especially the crop top paired with high waist bottoms, it remains one of my favorites and frankly I can’t get enough of it.

Always Right

You can never go wrong with a nice oleku set for christmas (hence the always right post title) and I'm in love with this one from Kampke.com. You can wear it for both casual and formal events this season and even to church, it can also make the perfect gift. One of my favourite things about this outfit (other than the fabric and print) is that the top can be worn on its own with a pair of jeans or a skirt, it also has a bow detail on the side of the neckline. Kampke giving us multiple use from one outfit, Love it!!!
Coincidentally my last nail art posts featured a bow as well.
Don't forget that you can buy this AT A DISCOUNT and GET A FREE DRESS when you shop Kampke, click here for more details. You still have some time to shop this outfit and much more.
Merry Christmas Guys!!! Hope you look fab while enjoying your celebrations! This is definitely what I'll be wearing lol x

The Perfect Combination

Red remains the perfect addition to a White and Black mix, it's a classic especially for a holiday outfit idea. This button down shirt from LA.X Nigeria is the perfect combination of all three colours with just a hint of red and you already know how I feel about print so I love this top.
What I also love about the shirt is that the red doesn't limit your styling, you can wear it with other colours and still look fab! I'll try that some other time but right now I'm too in love with this skirt.

NOSAK Healthcare, an indigenous company in the health sector, introduced two new products in 2012 – Nosbrite Toothpaste and Nosbrite Lozenges into the Nigerian market.

The company, with over 35 registered drugs, recognised the gap in dental and oral hygiene and has responded by developing a unique formula meant to resolve and totally prevent or treat commonly occurring oral challenges which may include bacterial/fungi infection, sensitive tooth, coloured tooth, halitosis (smelling mouth), oral cancer, inflammation (swelling gum), holes in tooth, among others.

In combating these oral challenges, the existing regular toothpaste containing fluoride or potassium nitrate (for sensitive tooth) has limitation, hence the use of Nosbrite Toothpaste which is recommended by dentists to combat these problems.

Redy

I look so Redy (ready) for the office in this outfit.
Don't you just love it when you can pull a suit from your closet even though you didn't buy both items together? Love it! The blazer and the skirt are from different places, same as the picture in my header. To be honest this is the exact same outfit down to the shoes LOL only thing different is the hair here is mine but with the blue suit I was wearing a wig. Love my curly wigs.
...Hm, I'm loving a lot of things today...

Sky High

When I look at this outfit the first things that come to my mind are blue skies, white clouds and aviator shades... Hence the post title :)

Hair Talk: My Routine

Everyone has a routine that works for them, it could be for skin care, exercise and fitness or even a routine to simply get ready in the morning. In this post I'll be talking about my hair care routine that has been the norm for me for over 2 years. This could help inspire your hair care routine (if you don't already have one) and help create something that works best for you and the health of your hair.

MY HAIR CARE ROUTINE
I’m always doing one protective style or the other, which I usually have on for about 2 weeks to a month. While my hair is hidden I spray a water and coconut oil mixture in my hair whenever I feel it getting a bit dry. Sometimes if I can, I'll put in some leave in conditioner or I might even co-wash my hair depending on the protective style I have on.

The Curly 'Fro
When I take the style out I detangle, wash and deep condition. When it comes to deep conditioning, some people do it before washing and some people do it after, sometimes I prefer both because I love to co-wash my hair. I just really love having conditioner in my hair and I think co-washing and deep conditioning are about the same if not very similar. What do you think? And do you prefer to deep condition your hair before or after washing? (Leave a comment and let me know :)

Depending on how my hair feels I could do a protein or hot oil treatment but my favourite thing to do is deep condition.
After my wash day process, I do bantu twists myself for a twist out look the next morning. This is my favourite natural hair style to rock, the curly 'fro.

Purple Leaves & Green Flowers

Purple... It's my fave colour but I don't wear it a lot.
Fact is, this is the ONLY purple item of clothing I own, aside from my pyjamas and satin bonnet for bed time =D
Hope you're having a great Monday so far!
I got the dress from a market in London last year and decided to pair it with these green heels from Zara to compliment the colours and floral print on the dress.

Choose Wisely cont. - Peace Oseyenum

This is the continuation from part one here, which was for this guys but this is for you Ladies!
***
Dear Madame,
I understand that you need stability, as a man I must provide.
As a female you need protection and security. I mean how could I take you from the comfort if your fathers house and bring you a world of unnecessary struggle due to my inability to save and work hard to provide for our household.

Google Images
But if I told you that money wasn't the all in all, would you still be committed? If I lost it all today would you still reflect the unconditional love of God? Would you still respect me? Would you still submit?

I can assure you now, that if there is any doubt in your mind and any of the above questions have the answer of no, then it's best we go our separate ways now. It's not because I don't love you, it's because I don't want you to be with me for the things that I have the same way you don't want me to choose you for the looks you have. The bible doesn't promise a problem free life, in fact he warns us that trials and tribulations will come!

So babe are you that helpmate? Are you the one to calm the storm or will you just add thunder? Are you the supporter or the hater? Will you intercede with me at hard-times or gossip with your girls about our problems. He who finds a wife finds a good thing. So choose wisely

My First Haul Post

Hey guys!
I know it's been long and I apologize. However I recently bought a few things from Kampke.com and I was asked to do a review/haul. I'm used to watching haul videos on youtube but because I don't make videos I decided to do a lookbook featuring the things I bought.
I placed the order 22/08/2014 at 1:15am and at about 10am they called me to confirm my order and delivery address. I was given an estimated time for my delivery which was 2pm but I ended up getting it before 12pm the same day with no delivery charges which I thought to be impressive.
I was a little skeptical about the quality and item descriptions but all four items turned out to be great.
Kampke.com was also generous enough to share a discount code with my loyal followers and I'd like to say a big thank you to everyone who keeps checking my blog and those who keeps sharing my links as well, I really appreciate it.
Continue to get the code and see more pictures.

Hair Talk: Simple Tips

Although I've done quite a number of hair features in the past (and left the links here on my blog), I guess it's not the same as having a post about my hair on my blog because I still get a lot of questions about my hair. I'm sure I've mentioned a few things in the past but I don't expect every one to go through my whole blog in search of my natural hair tips and care routine... Long.

Before I get into anything serious, I want to let you know that the hair on my hair growing out my scalp is not the same as yours. We are not the same person so we do not have exactly the same hair. Basically, what works for me may not necessarily work for you. So if you do everything I write here in this post (and others after) and you get results you aren't happy with, Eki is not to blame. I'm just sharing MY routine so practice/copy it at your own risk. Also, I've never said I am a natural hair guru because I really am not and I don't know it all, in a few years all I've written here might change because just like you I'm also learning everyday.

I have a lot to say in detail when it comes to my hair so this post will be broken down into several parts over time. For my relaxed/permed hair sisters out there, I'm also working on getting my cousin to share some of her hair secrets as well. She's started paying more attention to her relaxed hair and it's grown so much over the past few years, so hopefully I can get her to share some tips as well.

So let's begin!

PROTECTIVE STYLING
This has to be the number one on my list because my hair is always hidden, my cousin Omozo of O'Naturals calls me "a natural in hiding".
Braids and wigs are major for me, I'm not a fan of weaves because I don't like the look of a closed weave and I don't like to leave my natural hair out because it can get damaged, I learnt that the hard way. All the straightening left me with bald spots and then straight hair right in the front, the worst.

More Pink

This has to be one of my favourite pictures
It's too much pink right?
Lol I love the story behind this outfit because it wasn't planned at all. Usually I have a mental picture of what my outfit is going to look like before taking pictures or going out but this was different and from my last post I really thought I was done with this skirt but here I am repeating it.
I was in my mum's closet (as I do) and I saw these sandals she's worn in the past. I'd seen them before but today was different, it felt like I'd struck gold. Once I saw them I immediately thought about this outfit but I almost didn't wear it or take pictures because
1. I'd already blogged about this skirt

Pink Orange

This outfit was inspired by one of the pieces from Monique Lhuillier's S/S 2014 collection that Leslie Mann wore for the premiere of The Other Woman here. The collection is the perfect balance of everything I love with lace, prints & colours, applique, classic white and then draping. You can view all that by clicking here. If I could I'd get all 39 looks in my size!
I've always wanted to try an outfit with these colours but I've never been bold enough and now that I have I'm not 100% sure about it but again I don't think it's so bad either. I love the skirt but I don't love it paired with this top, it's just not an outfit I'd like to repeat any time soon but I like the pictures :)

What's In My Bag

A toilet selfie at the airport featuring my fave jacket and fave bag <3
I went on a two week break and decided to take just one bag along in attempt to "pack light" and it had to be my Chanel bag. It's my fave bag cuz I've always wanted to own one, it's one of those things I'd cross of my bucket list right now. I went through some comments and I decided to do the what's in my bag tag suggested by one of you! I'm also working on a post about my make up and skin care routine, I'm not quite the make up guru so it may take a little while and I've been breaking out quite and I'm also in the process of finding out what really works for my skin too so please bear with me.
Due to the size of this bag it's contents have been through a bit of scrutiny so this tag is rather edited, I could only fit in the essentials. On a regular weekday I usually have two bags of crap, one big bag for work related necessities like my laptop/ipad, lunch etc and then my handbag for more personal everyday things.
  1.  My Wallet
I've had this for about 3 years and it's from A.P.C. I tend to go for dark colours when shopping for wallets and for someone who loves colours I personally find it weird. It has a few scuffs here and there but I'm not letting it go anytime soon. It's still functional, holds all my important cards and money of course. It's also quilted which reminds me a lot of Chanel and to be honest that's one of the reasons I bought it amongst others.
  2. Nail File
I've always thought that you could tell a lot about a person from how their nails looks, male or female, having nasty nails aren't a good look. To avoid this I carry a nail file just incase of any chips or broken nails.
  3. A Pen
Fun fact about me; I only carry black pens around. In secondary school I never liked using blue pens, I'd hunt down a black pen if I ever had to borrow a pen - which rarely even happened cuz I always had like 5 spare pens in my purple pencil case lol. In my mind blue ink made my hand writing look ugly but in reality it really wasn't that serious. The ugly writing theory is out the window now but I still prefer black, I guess old habits die hard. Having a pen is essential, you never know when you're going to need one or be helpful to someone in need of one.
  4. Lipstick of The Day
What ever lip colour I choose to wear that day always goes in my bag incase I need to touch up. And on this particular day, it was Girl About Town by MAC, my favourite pink at the moment.
  5. Oyster Card
I was in London for the break so this is a must have if I know I'm going to leave my house. Either this or a travel card.
  6. Trident Splash in Strawberry Lime
YES! It has to be this one because no other will do! JK I buy other brands and flavours but this is my all time fave, looooove it!
  7. Pocket Tissues
The solution to a runny nose, dirty hands (along with item no.12), sweaty face or even an oily nose, gotta have it! Picture public toilets with no tissue rolls... Never stranded! Lol
  8. My Phone
It needs no explanation really. It's my connection to the world of social media, conversation cutter, awkward moment safety net, pocket mirror when I forget mine and boredom killer. It also tells me the weather, keeps my notes when I have no pen and paper, sends my messages and lets me make calls and also wakes me up in the morning :)
  9. Gaviscon
For uncomfortable stomach situations i.e my stomach ulcer pains, heart burn etc, Sometimes I have the liquid sachets as well which work faster, ulcer pains ain't fun!
  10. Pocket Mirror
For lipstick applications, food stuck in my teeth, pesky eyelashes stuck in my eye and overall vanity really. People find it weird that I'm able to touch my eyeball with a finger or tissue to get that lash (or any other thing - cringe*) out, but I just can't leave it there! The next best thing is rinsing it with water, then that would ruin my make up, no thanks!
  11. Hair Bands
I'm fond of losing these so I end up replacing the ones in my bag almost every week or two and sometimes I have bobby pins as well. I just never know when the one in my hair might snap and sometimes after wearing my hair down for a bit I just want it up in a bun so they're very handy for me.
  12. Hand Sanitizer
I'm not loyal to any brand but I like this one by body shop cuz it's scented and doesn't dry out my hands, it's either this of hand wipes. Again I think this is a must have for everyone cuz it saves lives. Germs and dirt must not prevail!!!
  13. Salbutamol Inhaler
This is of great importance to me and I also carry a pocket nebuliser as well cuz "It ain't easy being weezy". Battling with this is one of the Major reasons I've been MIA, I wasn't sure about disclosing this info or personal stories cuz it's quite a sensitive topic but I'm sure a lot of people can relate.
  14. Lip Stain
Even when my lipstick changes, this stays permanently in my bag for those days when I just feel like adding some colour to a bare/neutral look to brighten my face a bit or if I forgot to take lipstick with me. This is my favourite one by YSL and it's colour 13 which is a redish pink.
  15. Earphones
I usually take my headphones in my big work bag but my iPhone earphones are best to fit in this small bag.
  16. Glasses
Both sunglasses and my regular glasses as well, you never know when you need sunglasses so I just my fave-pair-for-the-moment in my bag just incase. I don't carry a case around cuz it's too bulky and won't fit so I put them both in this printed cloth case.

You've definitely learnt a few new things about me from looking in my bag today.
I'd probably do another one with my work bag and get started on a few other topics some of you suggested. Thanks again for your feedback and for visiting my blog as well! Have a great week. x
