My Picks: Aso Oke Bag

This has to be one of my fave accessories. It doesn't hold much but it's a bag my bestie bought for me as a gift from the Nike art gallery in Lekki, I absolutely love that place.
We went there together and of course we were blown away by all the art, fabric and accessories on sale. Even though I didn't plan on buying anything, I fell in love with this bag instantly and she decided to buy it for me as a gift since she was visiting from school.
I'm sure you can already guess why I love it so much but I'll be obvious, I love the colours, the print and the fabric, it's actually aso-oke. All these things make it special but what makes it even more special is the fact that it was a gift from one of my fave people, someone I've loved probably since primary school.

Be Selfless, Be Kind.

From childhood most of us have been raised to be competitive. Its a dog eat dog world, so competition is inevitable, but how refreshing is it to jusr be selfless?
You know... The feeling of helping others when you have the ability to? Or even if you don't have the funds to help, giving your time, a listening ear or words of encouragement?
In the end, when we help each other, everybody wins.

I Wish - Peace Oseyenum

I wish I was flawless, faultless, without sin.
I wish you would search the motives and intentions of my heart and find no iniquity from within.
I long for a consistent pursuit of seeking the Father and emulating him.
I wish for my total being to reflect him.
He didn't die for me to be lukewarm, mediocre, "not so bad".
There must be more than this, there must be more depth than this.
How I long to put away every single distraction that can deter me from abiding in the bosom of my Father.
To bear much fruit, to do much exploits, to be like him; Jesus.
This is my heart cry, but why does it feel like nothing is shifting from me.
I get up I fall down, I wake up I slumber. I'm diligent I'm lazy, I'm selfish I'm self-fulfilling.
I can't serve two masters; either I dethrone my own will or obey yours.
I can't serve myself. I can't. I won't.
There, I will find truth and encouragement in the word of God, for I know my struggles are not new to man. I know that even David fell and rose up, I know that God's mercies are new every morning.
So I endure, and patiently wait in him. I trust that he is a God of purpose, process and promise.
He didn't die for me to be lukewarm, mediocre "not so bad".
There IS more to this.

***
Have a great week ahead guys, live like there is more to this. x

So Simple

Short hair don't care! This is a wig (you guys know I love my wigs), one of my friends made it for me and it's one of my safety nets for a bad hair day among others like scarves and even more wigs lol.
I was a little worried about trying short hair, but it's not so bad, change is good sometimes. What do you think?

Changes

If you've been following my blog over the years, you'll notice I make little changes every now and then, especially with my header. But recently I changed the layout of my blog, something I've been wanting to do for some time now and I'm happy I finally did it, I love it. What do you think?
So here's a little more about what has changed on The Chameleon Blogger, starting from the top.
I changed the contents of the "About Me" tab, it was a little outdated. Click there if you'd like to know basic information about me and how this blog started, you'll find all that there.
I've also updated me social media links so follow me on those links for more updates.

Favourites Friday: Natural Hair on YouTube

See more pictures from this post HERE
Hey guys, another Friday and another favourites post.
Today I'm sharing my top 5 natural hair channels on YouTube. I follow a lot of them; some new and some old, YouTube really helped me with my transition/big chop phase 5 years ago. How time flies. Some of the ones who really helped me pull through that delicate phase have stopped recording over the years and I'll share their channels later on, but here are the new ones I'm in love with at the moment.

*Naptural85 She is my all time fave, my day one from big chop till now. My hair crush all day everyday #fangirl

As a bonus, I'll share two of my fave all time oldies with you.
These ladies just recently made a come back after a few years. They both got married and started their families and of course, the internet must be put on hold when life calls!
Please don't forget to share some of your favourites with me, I'm always looking to find new ones. Also, share some of your fave Nigerian bloggers from my last post too.

TGIF! Oh yea! Have a great weekend guys! x

Favourites Friday: Nigerian Blogs

From food recipes and outfit inspiration, to make up tutorials or even product reviews, these are five of my fave Nigerian blogs!

Afrolems For food recipes and food inspiration or sometimes when I just want to look at nice pictures of food and ways you can recreate Naija food, I go there and drool.

Berry Dakara Very honest, very open, very interesting kind of somebody. I've met her once and I've followed her blog ever since.
Sisi Yemmie
Sisiyemmie I think everyone loves Sisiyemmie, she's very real and relatable, she was one of the first Nigerian bloggers I started following and I found her through youtube. I've met her as well, she's so nice, she needs to be like my best friend or something (famz life).

That Igbo Chick Not only do I think she's so pretty, I love her makeup tutorials! She's also someone I found on youtube. I follow a lot of people on youtube so expect a favourites post on that soon, maybe my next one?

Zinkata found her through a website I follow almost religiously and I've been following her & her style for a while now. I think it's also really amazing that she has a shop now and I find that very inspiring. Her style can be a little out of the box for me, but that's why she's Zinkata.

For a little bonus, I follow menswear bloggers Akin Faminu and Denola Grey. I'm not a man, but menswear inspires me a lot too.
I'll share my faves in different categories later, but these are my overall faves at the moment.
Hope you enjoyed it, don't forget to share your faves as well. x
